Scott is an inspirational speaker drawing on his range of life experiences, from growing up in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, to living and working across the globe. Scott is best described as curious, adventurous and energetic. He thrives on creating new opportunities and enjoys inspiring other inventors and innovators to believe that with perseverance they too can make their dreams come true.
Scott is the creator of the globally successful Hegs Pegs. This clever peg captured everyone’s heart and then Scott was selected from hundreds of submissions to appear on Channel 10’s reality TV show, Shark Tank Australia and secured a deal with Naomi Simson. That same year Hegs Pegs won the prestigious international Good Design Award and won Telstra’s South Australia Business of the Year!
Scott and the team are delighted with their decision to move Hegs Pegs production from China to Australia, moving against the trend of many Aussie manufacturers. Hegs Pegs are now proudly 100% Australian made, designed and manufactured. There is a core team of four at HEGS Australia team with an additional 50 plus individuals across key areas including manufacturing, assembly, sales and marketing.
In 2017 HEGS Australia commenced expansion of their product range through its own innovations, in addition to new innovations that are already in the pipeline, due for launch under the HEGS brand in early 2018.
Scott’s book ‘The Aussie Innovator” was published in June 2016. In his book, Scott shares the journey of how he got to where he is today. Understanding that it doesn’t matter what you do, you rarely do it by yourself. “Your team, your family, your customers and those you meet in your travels all make you who you are and contribute to your success”.
Scott also sits on the Women in Innovation board, is an inspirational speaker and passionate entrepreneur who draws from his life experiences. From the early days growing up in Australia’s red centre to living and working across the globe, Scott tells his Australian story with honesty and humour.
